The small print
The short version
This site has no advertising and no tracking cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to: the one measurement it takes counts page views without a cookie and without identifying anybody. What is collected is what you type in and what a web server cannot avoid seeing, and it is never sold or handed to an advertiser.
Jad Daoud, a sole trader in Lebanon, is responsible for it. Write to hello@houseofparameters.com about anything on this page.
What is collected today
Your email address, if you join the waitlist. The form posts it to Kit, which holds the list and sends the mail. Kit records whether an email was opened, which is how any mailing tool works. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and using it removes the address from the list.
Whatever you write, if you write. An email or a WhatsApp message sits in a mailbox and on a phone, like any other message.
The request itself. Cloudflare serves this site and logs what a server logs: the IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser. Those logs are Cloudflare's, kept for a short period, and are used for nothing beyond serving the site and keeping it up.
A count of the page views. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts which pages are looked at, from which country, and on what kind of screen. It sets no cookie, writes nothing to your browser, and builds no profile: the dashboard's own charts count IP addresses, and on a site nobody has been told about yet those were almost entirely crawlers, so this is here to tell a person from a robot and nothing more.
The fonts are one of two outside requests a page makes. Space Grotesk and JetBrains Mono load from Google's font servers, so Google sees the IP address of anybody who loads a page here. Nothing is sent with the request beyond that. Serving the two families from this domain instead is the honest fix, and it is on the list.
What is collected when the courses open
None of this is running yet, and it is written here so that it is not a surprise later.
Paying. Paddle.com Market Limited is the seller of record and takes the payment. Paddle sees your name, your email address, your billing country and your card details. We never see a card number. From Paddle we keep the order: what was bought, when, at what price, which country was charged, and the payment's own reference, which is what a receipt, a refund or a tax question is answered from.
Your account. An email address, and a record of which courses it owns. Signing in is a link sent to that address.
Watching and downloading. Video will be served by Bunny Stream, which sees the playback request. Lesson progress is kept against your account, so a course resumes where you left it, and each download of a file is logged against the account that asked for it. That log is there because a download link that leaks is the one way a paid file gets loose.
Who else sees any of it
- Kit, the waitlist and the mail sent to it
- Cloudflare, serving the site, the server logs, and the count of page views
- Google Fonts, the IP address of a page load
- Paddle, payments, receipts and tax, once anything is sold
- Bunny Stream, video playback, once there is video
Nobody else. Nothing here is sold, rented or shared with an advertiser, and there is no profiling of any kind.
How long it is kept
The waitlist holds your address until you unsubscribe. Order records are kept as long as tax law requires them, and Paddle keeps its own copy for the same reason. Messages are kept as long as they are useful and then deleted.
Asking for it, or asking for it to go
Write to hello@houseofparameters.com and ask for a copy of what is held, a correction, or deletion. The answer comes from a person, not a ticketing system.
One honest limit: a purchase record cannot be deleted while the access it pays for still stands, because the record is what proves the access. If you ask for it to go, the access goes with it, and you will be told that before anything is deleted.
Children
The courses are for practising architects, engineers and designers. This site is not aimed at anybody under 16, and no account is knowingly opened for one.
